During the San Jose Sharks 4-2 loss to the New York Islanders on Saturday, a fan jokingly tried to bribe the referees during an unusual goal review.
With 6:27 left in the second period, Anders Lee threw a bad-angle shot toward the net, and Sharks goalie Alexandar Georgiev made the save but was deep in his crease. While holding the puck to freeze it, the netminder was backing into his own net.
The game would go to a commercial break, but the officials announced that the previous play was under review upon returning from break.

After the review, the referees determined that there was no conclusive evidence of the puck completely crossing the goal line. Therefore, the call on the ice stood no goal.
The Islanders didn’t argue much, as the replays above clearly show; there was no way to see the puck.
The fans at the side created an all-time NHL blooper moment that hockey fans can chuckle at for a long time.
Saturday night was the first Sharks home game since Feb. 8 and was announced as a sellout of 17,435.
Head coach Ryan Warsofsky was happy with the San Jose Sharks’ effort, especially after Friday’s emotional day.
