San Jose Sharks top defense prospect Sam Dickinson has set a London Knights record for the most points by a defenseman in a single season.

Dickinson has 88 points (27 goals, 61 assists), which sets the record and leads his entire team in scoring. Philadelphia Flyers prospect Denver Barkey is second with 78 (23 goals, 55 assists).

During the Knights’ last game against the Saginaw Spirit, Dickinson recorded two assists to tie him with Edmonton Oilers defenseman Evan Bouchard and Rick Corriveau with 87 points. His point total would change on Monday, as the Ontario Hockey League announced a scoring change during London’s game on Feb. 28.

Dickinson and the Knights take on the Windsor Spitfires this Friday in their final game of the OHL regular season. The San Jose Sharks 2024 No. 11 pick is second in OHL scoring by defenseman behind Calgary Flames d-man Zayne Parekh (33 goals, 69 assists).

The Sharks look forward to adding Dickinson to their lineup next season, as their defense core has been under construction. Dickinson projects to be San Jose’s No. 1 d-man of the future.

The 18-year-old played two preseason games for the Sharks. He finished -3 and recorded one shot on goal. He is expected to turn pro for the 2025-26 season.
