According to the AHL Transactions page and Elite Prospects, the San Jose Sharks have signed 2023 5th-round pick Axel Landén to an Amateur Tryout.
Landén will join the San Jose Barracuda and could sign an entry-level contract this summer. Landén played the 24-25 season in Sweden with HockeyAllsvenskan and HV71 in the SHL. He also played for Team Sweden during the World Juniors.
Like Noah Beck, Landén will join the Barracuda on their hunt for the postseason. With an injury to Jimmy Schuldt, Lucas Carlsson, and Jack Thompson with the Sharks, Landén will be on the blue line.
The 6’1, 191 lb defenseman is a smooth skater who likes to throw his body around. He plays a similar style to Colorado Avalanche defenseman Ryan Lindgren.
The team has not officially announced the move, and this story will be updated when the San Jose Sharks formally announce the transaction.
