San Jose Sharks star forward Macklin Celebrini was not on the ice for the second day of training camp.
Celebrini participated in the first day of camp in full before, but wasn’t made available to the media following the skate. The Sharks said the 19-year-old center wasn’t feeling good when he came off the ice on Thursday.
That prompted the coaching staff to send home the franchise centerman early in an effort to get him to feel better. GM Mike Grier didn’t seem too worried about the status of the San Jose Sharks’ No. 1 center.
Celebrini had been on a line with Will Smith and Jeff Skinner. Ty Dellandrea skated in place of Celebrini during the on-ice portion that Celebrini missed.
Celebrini once again won’t be made available to the media on Friday, but was in the building. Head coach Ryan Warsofsky stated Celebirni is still dealing with an illness. The Sharks’ bench boss said he is unsure if Celebrini will skate on Saturday.
