Arguably, the only other thing San Jose Sharks fans could get more excited about than a Will Smith extension right now is a change of goal song.
Well, the fans have gotten their wish. The Sharks announced Monday that they will debut a new goal song during their opening-night game on Oct. 1 v. the Florida Panthers.
Just one year after creating their own custom goal song, Power Bite by Bvrnout, the Sharks have changed it. Last season, the team asked fans to vote on options for a new goal song after announcing they’d be moving on from ‘Get Ready for This’ by 2 Unlimited.
Starting in 2016, Fans were happy with the choice of the well-known sports anthem. It was catchy, familiar, and fun to hear during the initial playoff runs and the start of the rebuild. When the San Jose Sharks announced the change to Power Bite, fans never really warmed up to it.
This preseason, the Sharks have released surveys asking fans what they want to see when they go to SAP Center. Nearly every comment was about the team moving on from Power Bite. Response screenshots were shown in the comments, all asking to change the goal song.
Unlike in 2025, the Sharks haven’t released any fan vote or previews of the new goal song. Right now, whoever scores the first goal on Oct. 1 will give every fan the answer they’ve been waiting to hear.
