Former San Jose Sharks assistant general manager Ryane Clowe is joining the New York Rangers in the same role.

After suddenly leaving the Sharks AGM role on Sunday, the Rangers announced additions to their front office on Monday morning. That includes Clowe as an AGM.

Before returning to the Sharks organization in 2024, Clowe served as a consultant or advisor to the Rangers organization from 2021 to 2024. In a statement yesterday, Clowe stated that leaving the Sharks was “in the best interest of his family.”

This isn’t the first time Clowe has moved from the San Jose Sharks to the New York Rangers. In 2013, the two NHL Clubs made a trade that had Clowe go from the Sharks to the Blueshirts.

Clowe hadn’t scored a single goal leading up to the 2013 deadline deal. He didn’t wait long to change that in a Rangers uniform, scoring twice in his debut on April 3, 2013.

In return for Clowe, the Sharks received a 2013 second-round pick, Florida’s 2013 third-round pick, and a conditional second-round pick in 2014. Clowe waived his no-trade clause to join the Rangers.
