Edmonton Oilers superstar Leon Draisaitl was forced to leave the game against the San Jose Sharks on Thursday due to an injury.
The forward’s last shift ended with 9:29 to go in the second period, and he was seen in discomfort heading back to the Oilers bench.

The center played 10:04 in the game and had one assist, which gave him 106 points this season. Shortly after leaving the game, Jeff Skinner deflected his 15th goal of the season past San Jose Sharks goalie Georgi Romanov to give the Edmonton Oilers a 3-2 lead.
Edmonton head coach Kris Knoblauch told reporters he had not spoken to the training staff after the game. The Oilers defeated the Sharks 3-2 for their fourth straight win.
“You never want to miss those guys. You never want your top players not to play because every time they’re not in, it decreases your chances of winning because they are good players,” Knoblauch said. “What happens is other guys have some opportunities to play, get some confidence, hopefully score some goals, because we’re going to need them.”
