When you go to the beach, do you enjoy a specific one?

“Usually, Santa Cruz. [Sometimes] Capitola. Those two are probably the main [ones] I go to, but I don’t go too often.”

When you’re at home, do you like to separate yourself from hockey completely?

“Yeah [I do]. I watch a lot of [TV] series [and] movies, stuff like that. I think that’s something that you need to do to stay in the game a while.”

What’s your go-to video game?

“Fortnite.”

Who is your squad?

“I play with Alex Holtz a little bit. We grew up together—also, a couple of buddies from home.”

Do you play video games with Zetterlund?

“He’s not a big-time gamer. We usually play some FIFA together. Me, him, and [Rasmus] Sandin is usually playing with us.”

Eklund said he usually plays the pro club’s game mode and is the left wing.

Are there other games you’re excited about?

“GTA 6 will be fun. That one I look forward to.”

Eklund has played 65 games for the San Jose Sharks this season. He hasn’t missed much time- five games to be exact- but his production hasn’t fallen. Watch for another SHD exclusive interview about how the 22-year-old has adjusted his recovery to be more effective late in the NHL season.
