The San Jose Sharks will make one lineup change against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday after their 3-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks.
Adam Gaudette will be a healthy scratch for the Sharks, and Zack Ostapchuk will return to the lineup. Despite making 41 saves on 43 shots in a 6-2 win over the Senators just nine days ago, Yaroslav Askarov will not start in goal. Head coach Ryan Warsofsky confirmed that Alex Nedeljkovic will get the starting nod.
“We’ve talked to Chucky, and it’s not like he’s playing poorly. We’ve lost a couple games in a row [and] we’re not playing great hockey,” Warsofsky said of Ostapchuk before the game agianst the Canucks. “We got to make some changes and get something going. There’s more things he can do to impact the game in different levels. And we’ve talked to him about that.”
Warsofsky wouldn’t confirm whether Ostapchuk or Dellandrea will play on the wing for the San Jose Sharks.
On goaltending, Warsofsky said he’s comfortable with either goalie playing against any team.
“We got two good goalies playing really good hockey right now,” Warsofsky explained. “We’ve got a lot of hockey coming up with a road trip here; game Monday. Just trying to map it out here a little bit.”
