Sharks’ Macklin Celebrini Earns All-Rookie NHL Honors

San Jose Sharks star rookie Macklin Celebrini was named to the 2024-2025 NHL All-Rookie team on Thursday.

Fellow Calder Trophy nominees Lane Hutson and Dustin Wolf, the Sharks forward, headlined the team. Hutson won the Calder Trophy for Rookie of the Year, as Celebrini finished third in voting.

Per the San Jose Sharks, Celebrini is the 7th player in franchise history to be named on an NHL All-Rookie team. The 18-year-old is the first player to be part of this team since Logan Couture in 2010-2011.

The six other Sharks are Matt Carle and Marc-Edouard Vlasic (2006-07), Evgeni Nabokov (2000-01), Brad Stuart (1999-00), and Jeff Friesen (1994-95).

Macklin Celebirni finished his rookie season with 25 goals and 38 assists. He ranked first in scoring per game among rookies with at least three games played, with 0.90.

Celebrini received 187 out of 187 votes to be part of the All-Rookie team.

Fellow San Jose Sharks rookie Will Smith finished fourth in voting with 60. Cutter Gauthier had 79 votes for third, and Matvei Michkov had 186 votes for second.
