With the 95th pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, the San Jose Sharks select Teddy Mutryn.
Mutryn played for the Chicago Steel of the USHL in 24-25. In 47 games, the new Sharks draftee scored 17 goals and 13 assists.
Listed on Elite Prospects as a right-wing, Mutryn is described as a shoot-first power forward.
“A strong straight-line skater with a powerful shot, Mutryn has the prototypical power forward style. He fires off the rush after driving through traffic, faking before curling the puck around a stick. If there’s some space, he drops the shoulder to get to the net. Once there, he creates traffic and spins off contact for rebounds. Mutryn also brings puck-retrieving and defensive value, often leveraging his desire to make contact to win possession.”
Mutryn is set to attend Boston College next season. The San Jose Sharks’ top core players, Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith, followed a similar route to Mutryn. Celebrini also played for the Steel.
The Sharks’ 95th-overall pick is a Massachusetts native.
