San Jose Sharks defense prospect Luca Cagnoni has been named to the American Hockey League All-Rookie team.

In 62 games this season, Cagnoni has 14 goals and 35 assists, which ranks sixth among all rookies. He leads all rookie defensemen in scoring ahead of Tristan Luneau of the San Diego Gulls. Luneau was also named to the All-Rookie team.

Cagnoni sits fourth in the entire AHL in defenseman scoring. After signing his entry-level contract last summer, Cagnoni has appeared in six NHL games for the San Jose Sharks. On Monday, he registered an assist in his hometown area of Vancouver, on Macklin Celebrini’s goal.
