The San Jose Sharks announced that they have re-signed forward Collin Graf to a three-year $12.75 million contract.
Graf, 23, had a breakout campaign in 25-26, scoring 21 goals and 46 points. The undrafted winger flourished in a penalty kill role and showcased great chemistry with Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith on the Sharks’ top line.
“Collin was a big part of our team’s improvement this past season, being an effective penalty killer for us and his versatility in the lineup was extremely valuable,” San Jose Sharks GM Mike Grier said. “His hard working attitude and work ethic is a big reason why his game took another stride last year, and he continues to be an important person in our young group of players. We’re happy we are able to keep him a Shark for the next several seasons.”
Graf has played 121 games at the NHL level for the Sharks after signing out of Quinnipiac in 2024. A late growth spurt helped put the winger on the map to becoming an NHL player after going undrafted. His role in the 26-27 season is a bit unclear, but he could start on the top line again.
During Grier’s media availability about the Celebrini extension, the San Jose Sharks GM said the team was “pretty close” to signing Graf. Per Grier, the two sides had been in contract negotiations for roughly a month.
Graf will be an RFA when the contract expires.
