BREAKING: Sharks Sign 2nd-Round Pick Cameron Lund To ELC

The San Jose Sharks have announced the signing of 2022 second-round pick Cameron Lund.

Playing for Northeastern University, Lund led the team in goals with 18 and was second in assists with 22. His 40 points also ranked second on his team.

“Cam is a very talented player who brings speed, size, and skill to our group,” Sharks GM Mike Grier said in a statement. “We’re excited to have him join the organization and look forward to watching him develop.”

Lund spent three seasons with Northeastern, and the center improved each year. During the 22-23 season, he had 23 points (seven goals, 16 assists) in 35 games. In 23-24, Lund had 30 points (11 goals, 19 assists) in 35 games.

Grier told reporters during his trade deadline media availability that the Sharks were considering signing Lund following his NCAA season.

Lund and the Huskies ended their season in the Hockey East tournament semi-finals with a double-overtime loss to Maine.

The San Jose Sharks prospect helped lead his school as an underdog 9th seed to two playoff wins. In those games, Lund scored two goals and three assists in the three games for Northeastern.

Lund will join the Sharks outright instead of going to the American Hockey League. It will be a few days before he arrives in California.
