At 13:35 of the first period, San Jose Sharks forward Michael Misa netted his first career NHL goal.
The Sharks’ 2025 No. 2 overall pick couldn’t have had a better opportunity as defenseman Timothy Liljegren walked down the wing to the net, creating chaos in front. Misa, who was waiting at the right post, found the loose puck to stuff into the open cage.
Misa didn’t play against the New Jersey Devils as the San Jose Sharks are managing his development. Sunday’s game is the fifth of Misa’s young NHL career, and he scored on his fourth career shot.
The Sharks are also approaching a record for goals involving a teenager. Misa’s goal was the 11th straight goal by San Jose in which a teenager scored or assisted.
Despite jumping out to a quick 2-0 lead, the Sharks would give up two goals in 34 seconds for the Wild to tie the game.
