San Jose Sharks prospect Kasper Halttunen has become a goal-scoring machine for the London Knights at the OHL Championship series.
The Sharks’ 2023 second-round pick had a solid regular season, but similar to the 2024 OHL Playoffs, Halttunen has taken his game to another level. In 16 playoff games this season, the future Sharks winger has 13 goals.
The London Knights are looking to win their second straight OHL Championship. They play the Oshawa Generals in game five on Thursday, and the Knights can win the series 4-1.
Halttunen has taken over the Championship Series with seven goals in four games. That includes back-to-back hat tricks for the San Jose Sharks prospect in games three and four.
Haltunnen has played in eight career OHL Finals games. The Sharks’ prospect has four hat tricks.
Halltunen isn’t the only Sharks prospect having a great playoffs
Fellow San Jose Sharks prospect Sam Dickinson has had and is having a record-breaking season for the London Knights.
With 29 points (nine goals, 20 assists) in 16 playoff games so far, Dickinson has 50 points in his OHL Playoffs career. That number puts him first all-time among London Knights defensemen. The Sharks prospect passed former NHL defenseman Dennis Wideman to become No. 1
One thing remains for the San Jose Sharks prospects and the London Knights: a Memorial Cup Title. With a game five win over Oshawa, the Knights will punch their ticket to the CHL’s top trophy. Last season, the Knights fell in the championship game to the Saginaw Spirit.
