Team Teal walked away with a victory at the 2025 edition of the San Jose Sharks prospect scrimmage.

While the game meant nothing, Sharks fans got a closer look at some of the future Sharks. The star of the game was defenseman Eric Pohlkamp. The Denver University defenseman had a hat trick. He was all over the ice and dominated the puck every time he touched the ice.

“I think just for me, like coming in my first year [compared to] my third year, I think the confidence is so much easier,” Pohlkamp said. “Like, my first year, to be honest with you, I was scared sh****ss.”

The Sharks’ defenseman told reporters he is headed back to Denver and will take over for the Minnesota Wild’s defenseman Zeev Buium, who has left.

Sharks have a ton of upside in Michael Misa & Igor Chernyshov

2025 No. 2 pick Michael Misa will have to wait a little longer to score his first unofficial goal with the San Jose Sharks. That didn’t stop him from being productive during the scrimmage.

The forward paired with his former Saginaw Spirit teammate, Igor Chernyshov. Misa told reporters on Wednesday that it’s great to be together again, especially with his improved English.

It was nice. I thought we played pretty well, we just couldn’t score,” Misa said after the scrimmage. “Overall, it’s fun to be back on the ice with him. He’s a good player.”

Misa and Chernyshov combined to assist on Pohlkamp’s first goal of the day.

Sam Dickinson dominates play; hopes to make the NHL

While Pohlkamp dominated the puck offensively, San Jose Sharks top defense prospect Sam Dickinson was just as relevant.

The 2024 No. 11 pick never got deked, laid a couple of big hits, and showed off the generational offensive skill that made him the CHL Defenseman of the Year.

Off the ice, Dickinson remained humble. The 19-year-old will have to impress after the Sharks added Nick Leddy and Dimitry Orlov on Thursday, as well as John Klingberg.

“My goal is to be here and play next year. Obviously, they’re bringing on really good players,” Dickinson said. “This team wants to start winning right away. Nobody wants to lose in this league. They’re going to bring in the best players they can and ice the best team that they can. I’d like to be a part of the team that they ice come October.”
