BREAKING: Sharks Sign College Free Agent Noah Beck

The San Jose Sharks are signing one of the top college free agents, Noah Beck, out of Arizona State University.

PuckPedia was the first to report the signing. Rumors swirled Twitter on Monday about the 24-year-old signing with the Sharks.

Initially drafted in the seventh round by the St. Louis Blues in 2020, the Arizona State d-man did not sign and played out his college eligibility. The 6’3″, 205 LBS defenseman had a breakout fifth year at ASU.

Beck had five goals and 28 assists for ASU this season. After four years at Clarkson University, Beck made the bold decision to join one of the best up-and-coming NCAA programs. With his signing, it is safe to say that his decision to transfer was wise.

Per PuckPedia, Beck’s contract won’t start until next season. He will join the San Jose Barracuda on an amateur tryout for the remainder of the season. If the San Jose Sharks were to sign his one-year deal for this season, that year would be burned immediately.

Beck will join a Barracuda team that is missing two key players, Luca Cagnoni and Lucas Carlsson, who are in the NHL.

Beck becomes the second player the Sharks have signed out of the NCAA this week.
