With the second overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, the San Jose Sharks select Michael Misa of the Saginaw Spirit.
Misa was the projected pick at No. 2 for the Sharks. The center starred in the OHL for the Spirit, putting up 62 goals and 72 assists in 65 games.
Much debate was made about who the San Jose Sharks were going to select at No. 2. Rumors spread like wildfire that GM Mike Grier was heavily interested in drafting Anton Frondell.
Earlier in the week, Grier told reporters that he had listened to trade offers for the second overall pick, but was not actively shopping it.
Misa will likely attend the San Jose Sharks development camp next week. The final day of camp will finish with the annual Sharks Prospect Scrimmage at Tech CU Arena on July 3.
The Sharks’ following selection in the 2025 NHL Draft is No. 30.
